Profile

portretroundAfter finishing my studies at the Graphic School in Utrecht 20 years ago, I started working as a Graphic Designer.  At that time I worked a lot with a photoshop and painter making digital illustrations.  However, at that time, digital illustrations were not attracting the attention they are now.

Currently, I am a manager of a pre-press section.  Unfortunately, in my position there is limited time/space for me to be creative.  So, I enjoy making digital illustrations as a hobby.

I find the inspiration for my work everywhere.  It can come from a Tim Burton movie or a painting of Edward Hopper.  I enjoy developing my own style.  Sometimes a very ordinary picture can be a very defining object.  You can see this very well in Future Town, where the head of the trains are transformed into little spacewagons.  Or, where the stained glass window from a shopping center in the Hage Maison the Bonneterie is transformed into a spaceship.  I prefer to use my own pictures versus using the stockphoto’s so I can be more original with my work.

Most of my ideas originate from my computer.  However, there are other instances, such as seeing a picture when I’m driving my car, that will generate new ideas.

Thank you for visiting my website and I encourage you return and see my constantly changing work.
