Château Miranda is een kasteel in de Ardennen. Het kasteel is gebouwd in 1866 en ontworpen door de Engelse architect Milner. Het kasteel heeft verschillende taken gehad en staat ook wel bekend als Château de Noisy of Home de Noisy wat de naam was toen het als kindertehuis diende. 
GeschiedenisTijdens de Franse Revolutie verliet de familie Liedekerke-Beaufort Kasteel van Vêves om te gaan wonen in een nabijgelegen boerderij. Na de revolutie gaf de familie in 1886 opdracht aan de Engelse architect Milner om vlak naast deze boerderij een kasteel te ontwerpen als zomerverblijf. Tot en met de Tweede Wereldoorlog bleef het kasteel bewoond door de familie. Na de Tweede Wereldoorlog werd het kasteel door de NMBS gebruikt als kindertehuis en vanaf 1970 werd het gebruikt voor buitensportactiviteiten voor kinderen. Sinds 1991 staat het kasteel leeg. VervalNadat het kasteel leeg kwam te staan raakte het snel in verval. Anno 2009 zijn alle 500 ruiten in het kasteel gesneuveld en zijn in sommige delen van het gebouw complete trappenhuizen naar beneden gestort. De gemeente Celles heeft al enkele malen een bod gedaan om het kasteel en de grond over te nemen maar de familie wil tot op heden nog geen afstand doen van het kasteel. Het kasteel is een geliefde locatie voor Urban explorers. HistoryA little bit of history on the Château Miranda, which later became known as Château Noisy, tells that it housed the family Liedekerke-Beaufort Kasteel from Vêves as the countryside summer home that they always wanted. It was the design of architect Milner and it was built in 1886. Unfortunately, he wasn’t able to see his masterpiece complete, because he died before it was finished. The family kept the castle until WWII when it and the whole area was occupied by Germans. After the war was over, the NMBS – SNCB (National Railway Company of Belgium) used the castle as a house for the worker’s children and that’s how it was renamed to Château Noisy. In 1970, it was still all for the children but then only used as a summer camp or for some other outdoor activities. It has been abandoned since 1991. |
